As a consequence of warming more moist loose snow avalanches are possible, even large ones in isolated cases. In the event of solar radiation this applies in particular in steep rocky terrain. As a consequence of a moderate wind from westerly directions, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed in the last two days at elevated altitudes. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. Single backcountry tourers can release avalanches in some places, including medium-sized ones. Backcountry touring calls for meticulous route selection.

50 to 70 cm of snow has fallen since Tuesday above approximately 2500 m. Above approximately 2500 m a lot of snow is lying. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded still only poorly with the old snowpack. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack.

The weather will be mild. These weather conditions will facilitate a gradual strengthening of the snow drift accumulations.
