Lo esencial

New snow and high winds have formed pockets of slab one to three feet in depth at mid and upper elevations on old snow surfaces such as hard crusts and surface hoar. These slabs could be human triggered today and are expected to increase in size with additional snow and wind expected. Once triggered these slabs have the potential to pull out old layers of snow to the ground. At low elevations isolated pockets of slab could be triggered in steep gullies that have seen wind loading from strong low elevation winds.
