Lo esencial

At the upper elevations humans who venture into steep, north facing avalanche terrain could trigger slab avalanches that are poorly bonded to buried old snow surfaces. Avalanche are unlikely below an elevation of 9,000 or on south facing slopes at the upper elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will be mostly cloudy overnight with additional snow accumulations of an inch possible at the highest elevations. On Tuesday skies will be partly to mostly sunny with a chance of mountain snow showers. Temperatures in the mountains will be in the teens and 20s. Winds will be west at 15 to 20 miles per hour.Humans who venture into steep, north facing avalanche terrain above an elevation of 9,000 feet could trigger pockets of surface slab up to two feet in depth. Avalanches are unlikely on southerly aspects at the upper elevations and at the mid and lower elevations. The general avalanche hazard is forecast to be MODERATE at the upper elevations and LOW at the mid and lower elevations.
