The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8,500 feet. Wind slabs exist in very steep terrain and could be triggered by backcountry skiers and riders today. Avalanches are generally unlikely below 8500\\\' but could be triggered in steep wind loaded terrain features.

    Surface slabs formed by winds with varying directions lie in avalanche terrain with depths to two feet. These slabs could be human triggered today and are most likely to be found in steep chutes and in rocky or cliff areas where significant wind loading has occured.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )As the trough moves through central Wyoming overnight and Wednesday morning light snowfall is expected in the Wyoming and Salt River ranges and snow showers are possible in the Tetons. Again, eastern portions of the winds are likely to see the most significant accumulations. Mountain temperatures are to rise into the upper teens and northeast winds with ten to twenty mile per hour averages are expected. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate above 8500 where slab avalanches to two feet could be triggered in very steep wind loaded terrain. Below 8500 feet isolated pockets of slab could be triggered, particularly in the areas that received more significant snowfall.
