Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are generally safe, but there are two things to look out for when you're traveling in the mountains on Saturday.

Watch for isolated areas of drifted snow sitting right below ridgetop at the highest elevations. You might trigger an avalanche if you find more than about 6 inches of recently drifted snow. Any avalanche that you trigger will be small, but you could get knocked off your feet and dragged over rocks.

Warm temperatures on Saturday mean you might see small wet snow releases on steep slopes. These should be harmless, but be cautious if you find yourself sinking into a wet snow surface and you're traveling above a terrain trap.
