The danger of moist and wet avalanches will already exist in the early morning. As a consequence of a strong southwesterly wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs will form above the tree line,, also at a distance from ridgelines. In particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the prevalence and size of these avalanche prone locations will increase. The fresh snow and all the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. In particular transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack are especially unfavourable. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.

Evening and night: Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be barely evident. The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night. The strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. Below the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
