Forecast Snow Stability: Poor stability on North West through North to East aspects above 850 metres. New weak windslab build expected overnight and during the day. Most affected areas will be steep coire backwalls and gully tops. New weak cornice development anticipated over steepest lee slopes. Better stability on all other aspects, less steep ground and lower altitudes. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Persistent, heavy snow showers. Cold summit temperatures. Strong East-South-East winds during the evening, veering South-South-Westerly, then backing South-South-Easterly during the morning . Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers during the day. Colder summit temperatures. Fresh Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Patchy old snowpack limited to areas above 850 metres. Covering of fresh snow above 750 metres with some drifting at plateau level. Shallow new snow instability on some very steep North to East aspects above 950 metres. Recent minor avalanche activity on East-North-East aspect at 1050 metres this morning. Good stability at lower altitudes and on most other aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
