Favourable situation after cooling.

In Veľká Fatra and Lučanska Mala Fatra there is only a LOW avalanche danger, 1st degree. After warming and subsequent cooling, the snow cover has stabilized, avalanche release is possible only in very local places, where a larger amount of snow from the last snowfall has been piled up.

Snowpack Structure

The snow cover froze and stabilized after the cold snap. New snow up to 10 cm can be found locally on the hard older ground. In general, the snow cover in the mountains reaches 40 to 140 cm, with only patchy snow cover at lower altitudes up to 900 m above sea level.
