TOR for 10/3 Unstable windslab will continue to develop, steep S through W to NW aspects generally above 700m. Av Hazard Moderate.

Forecast Snow Stability: The general snow cover will remain largely unconsolidated, shallow and mostly lie on bare ground. Localised areas of unstable windslab will continue to build overnight in wind sheltered locations, mainly South through West to North-West aspects above 700 metres. Steep terrain such as gully exits, around coire rims and scarp slopes will be affected. New cornice growth expected above same aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight, with light snow showers expected throughout the day. The fresh Easterly wind will moderate overnight, backing light to moderate Westerly by daybreak. It will remain cold with the freezing level peaking at around 300 metres in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A fine dry day with plenty of sunshine. Strengthening Easterly winds. Freezing at all levels initially, rising to around 200 metres through the morning, higher on sunny Southerly aspects. ObservedSnowStability: The general snow cover remains largely unconsolidated, shallow and mostly lies on bare ground. Localised areas of unstable windslab are forming in wind sheltered locations, steep South-West to North-West aspects, generally above 700 metres. Additionally, existing pockets of moderately bonded windslab persist on steep South-East to South-West aspects mainly above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
