Avalanche Activity

CM for 12/1/22 Low hazard. Moist, stable snowpack. Limited wet snow instability steep N to E aspects above 950m. Weak cornices.

Forecast Snow Stability: Good stability in most places and altitudes. The snowpack will become wet but remain generally well bonded. Some limited, shallow wet snow instability is possible on very steep North to East aspects above 950m with the onset of rain. All cornices will become progressively weaker. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Progressively milder; freezing level rising to above summits overnight. A few light overnight snow showers then light rainfall until noon. Moderate to strong WSW winds. Observed Weather Influences: Mild for a time overnight then colder with some light snow showers at higher altitudes. Moderate to strong W winds. ObservedSnowStability: Well bonded moist snow below 900m; firm, refrozen, well stabilised snow on windward aspects above this altitude. New moderately bonded windslab on very steep North to East aspects above 950m. New windslab accumulations tend to be very limited in depth and extent and confined to coire rims and gully tops. Minor new cornice development noted over steepest lee slopes. The avalanche hazard is Low
