Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain firm and stable throughout with greatest amounts remaining on North through East to South-East aspects above 750 metres. Where exposed to direct sunlight, the snowpack will continue to soften. Remaining cornices will continue to slump. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry. Winds will be strong South-West overnight easing to fresh during daylight hours backing to become Southerly by late afternoon. The freezing level will be above the summits although inversion conditions will maintain cooler temperatures to lower levels. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry and sunny day with fresh South-West winds. The freezing level was around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack is firm, stable and well bonded throughout. Greatest accumulations are on North through East to South-East aspects above 750 metres. There was surface softening of the snowpack where exposed to the sun. The avalanche hazard is Low.
