Avalanche Activity

TO for 13.02. Wet snow and windslab instabilities on steep N through E to SE aspects above 850m. Avalanche Hazard Moderate.

Forecast Snow Stability: The generally wet snowpack will continue to thaw and deplete at lower levels. Above 850 metres new snow and windslab instabilities will continue to develop. These instabilities will be present on wind sheltered terrain on North through East to South-East aspects affecting steep terrain, such as corrie rims, ridge flanks and the tops of gullies and scarp slopes. Wind exposed aspects will be scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
