Afternoon temperatures will be significantly warmer than they were during the previous two days. The hazard at all elevations will be LOW during the morning while snow surfaces are hard and frozen. It will increase to MODERATE after significant softening of the snow surfaces occurs. Wet loose and wet slab avalanches are possible on very steep sunlit slopes. Monitor conditions and avoid steep avalanche prone slopes during the warmest portion of the day.

A cold front approaching from the west will rapidly pass over the region on Friday. Mild and partly cloudy conditions with increasing southwest winds are expected overnight. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s at dawn. Scattered mountain snow showers and valley rain showers are possible in the morning and likely as the the front passes overhead during the afternoon. A couple of inches of new snow could accumulate in the mountains. Southwest winds will increase and veer to the west after the frontal passage. Temperatures will rise into the 40s and 50s. By dusk this front should be in central Wyoming. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the early morning hours and increase to MODERATE after warm temperatures soften snow surfaces. Human triggered wet slides may be possible on very steep slopes during the warmest portion of the day.
