Above 7,500 feet, the general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. In steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain, recently developed soft slabs one to two feet in depth are likely to be triggered by backcountry travelers and could release naturally. Mountain temperatures will decrease during the day as cold Canadian air moves into the region. Ridgetop winds will be out of the west to southwest at 25 to 35 miles per hour.On Tuesday, the general avalanche hazard in the Teton area is expected to be HIGH at the upper elevations and CONSIDERABLE between 9,000 and 7,500 feet. In steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain, recently developed soft slabs up to 30 inches in depth, along with deeper hard slabs to four feet, are likely to be triggered by backcountry travelers and could release naturally. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN ABOVE 9,000 FEET IS NOT RECOMMENDED. At the lower elevations, the snowpack is mostly stable except for isolated pockets of shallow soft slab in very steep, shaded terrain.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be CONSIDERABLE in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas above 7,500 feet. Backcountry travelers could trigger soft slabs one to two feet in depth in steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain.
