A shallow early season snowpack is beginning to accumulate. Snowdepths are generally less than one foot in depth below 9,000 feet and up to 18 inches in depth above 9,000 feet.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Another short wave ahead of a Pacific low is expected to bring another shot of moisture to the region overnight. New snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches in the mountains and 2 to 3 inches in the valleys are possible. At 9,000 feet overnight lows will be in the teens and highs on Friday will be in the 20s. Ridgetop winds will be from the west-southwest at 25 to 35 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETONS, TOGWOTEE PASS/CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, GREYS RIVER/SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREASSignificant threats from avalanches are not likely in the existing shallow snowpack.
