Lo esencial

Unstable soft slabs one to three feet in depth persist in steep wind loaded mid and upper elevation avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. A snowmobiler was completed buried and died late Monday afternoon in the Southern Salt River Range after triggering a two foot deep soft slab on an east aspect at an elevation of 8,700 feet. This victim was the fifth rider to descend this avalanche path. Similar events have been triggered in Granite Canyon, Pinedale Canyon and Peak 9,670 (the Pyramid) in the Southern Teton Range and in the Snake River Range. Avalanches are unlikley at the lower elevations except in isolated pockets.
