Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Temperatures dropped below freezing overnight and avalanches are unlikely. Cool temperatures and cloud cover are expected to keep the snowpack mostly stable during the day. However, if frozen snow surfaces break down, caution is advised on steep, avalanche prone slopes that are underlain by a persistent weak layer of depth hoar.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies on Sunday with a chance for light mountain snow/valley rain. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near 20 before rising into the upper 20s during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will veer to the west at 25 to 35 miles per hour. After a solid freeze overnight, the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Sunday. With the exception of some very shallow, wet loose sluffs in the afternoon, the snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.
