Lo esencial

Heavy snowfall and strong South-Southwest winds overnight have formed surface slabs to two feet in depth on leeward slopes at the mid and upper elevations and to eighteen inches at the lower elevations. As snowfall and these strong winds continue throughout the day today these surface slabs will increase in size and sensitivity with easy human triggered avalanches expected on steep wind loaded terrain. Once triggered these slabs have the potential to pull out deeper layers of snow on early season weak layers, particularly on Northerly slopes. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED TODAY and highways may be affected by avalanches.
