Generally stable avalanche conditions exist. A hard refreeze, cold temperatures, and chilly winds will limit surface warming today. Prepare for a variety of surface conditions and be on the lookout for isolated instabilities.  

Generally stable avalanche conditions prevail across the range. Strong winds led to some blowing snow at higher elevations yesterday. Small wind deposits may be possible to find in isolated areas above treeline.  This will not be a major concern, but keep in mind that even a small avalanche could lead to a nasty fall in exposed or extreme terrain. 

Temperatures dipped well below freezing last night, leading to a solid refreeze. Daytime highs are expected to remain near or below freezing, and winds have decreased in speed and shifted to the north. These factors will work together to limit the extent of surface warming today, keeping the focus on non-avalanche related hazards. Over the last week, snow lines have risen substantially, which may make access difficult in some areas. Thinning coverage at lower elevations has exposed a plethora of obstacles, including rocks, bushes, and fallen trees. In addition, hard and slick surfaces will be common at all elevations and on all aspects. Specialized equipment, such as boots or ski crampons and an ice axe, may be necessary if your travels take you into steep or exposed terrain.
