Persistent weak layers formed during November are buried 2-4 feet deep across all aspects and elevations. Over the last several days, these layers have been sensitive to human triggering with one report of two snowmobilers fully buried. Remote triggering of these layers could also be possible with observations of cracks propagating over 200 feet. Evaluate snow and terrain carefully when riding or skiing, make conservative decisions, and avoid slopes with recent deposits of wind-drifted snow steeper than about 30°.

Another look at that slide above the Squaw Creek Road. 5'9" human volunteered to provide a sense of scale.
