Daily temperature swings with no recent snowfall have created a crusty, stable snowpack. The avalanche danger will be Low today above 8,500 feet. Where there is enough snow to travel, the snowpack remains mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. There is no avalanche danger below 8,500 feet due to a lack of snow. The main hazard for backcountry travelers remains the obstacles hidden beneath the shallow snow.

Tomorrow’s weather will be similar to today’s. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Temperatures at 10,000’ will reach into the low thirties with winds out of the West at 15-20mph.Much like the weather, the snowpack is not expected to look much different from today. Expect no change in the avalanche danger for tomorrow.
