The wet snow avalanche hazard will increase as the temperatures rise. Wet slides may be possible on very steep slopes during the warmest portion of the day. Monitor conditions for increasing wet snow hazards and avoid steep slopes if the snow softens and becomes unstable. Also at the highest elevations it may be possible to find an isolated pocket of wind slab up to a foot deep. Small slides can be dangerous in cliff areas, steep chutes, and other extreme terrain features. In those areas carefully assess the snowpack and terrain with respect to the potential consequences of being caught and carried in a small avalanche.

Accumulations of a trace to two inches are anticipated. A break in the showers and cloud cover is expected in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will in the 20’s tonight and in the 30’s and 40’s on Friday. Winds will be from the west at 10 to 20 miles per hour.The snowpack is mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely. Watch out for areas of unstable snow on isolated terrain features.
