Lo esencial
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE above an elevation of 8,000 feet. With forecasted wind and snow it will become easier through the day for backcountry travelers to trigger soft slabs up to 2 feet deep in steep, wind-loaded avalanche terrain. Deeper hard slabs, that rest on weak, faceted snow at the base of the snowpack, could also be triggered or step down from surface slides. Use careful snowpack evaluation, cautious route finding, and conservative decision making. Avalanches are unlikely below 8,000 feet.
