Lo esencial
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE and will increase as temperatures warm. West-northwest winds have formed pockets of soft surface slab up to two feet in depth. Today's sunshine and warm temperatures will increase the sensitivity of these slabs to human triggers on steep avalanche prone slopes with fresh deposits of wind blown snow. As the day progresses the potential for wet slides to spontaneously release from steep sunlit slopes will increase. In isolated areas, the possibility for large loads to trigger full depth hard slab avalanches on very steep avalanche paths may persist.
