Lo esencial

Spring is here! Avalanche conditions will fall within one of four scenarios outlined in the Spring Conditions Guide from Avalanche Canada.

Many trails remain snow-covered and many popular trails are exposed to avalanche terrain. Adhere to safety signage at trailheads or check conditions with info centers or the trail report

Avalanche Summary

Check the Avalanche Canada map page for any recent local MINs (mountain information network) or for MCRs click here: mountain condition reports.

Snowpack Summary

Even though it is spring, we can still get winter-like storms with corresponding avalanche problems. Avalanche hazard will generally be highest during periods of heat and/ or rain. Cornices are big, and they will fall off in the coming months.
