Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 9,000 feet. Soft slab avalanches could be human triggered in very steep terrain. A remote chance also persists for snowmobilers to trigger deep hard slab avalanches in isolated avalanche paths. Below an elevation of 9000 feet, the snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.

    Recent snowfall and strong southwest to northwest winds have formed pockets of wind slab to twelve inches in depth in steep upper elevation avalanche starting zones. Sunshine and rising temperatures will increase the sensitivity of these surface slabs to human triggers.
