Above 7500 feet the general avalanche hazard is Moderate where skiers and riders have the potential to trigger dense surface slabs on a variety of aspects. These slabs lie upon persistent weak layers and could release after a slope has been lightly tracked. Below 7500 feet hazard is Low and avalanche activity is unlikely except for in isolated pockets.

    Recently developed, dense surface slabs with depths of one to two feet lie upon well-developed surface hoar. While these persistent slabs are gaining strength and becoming more difficult to trigger, a variety of aspects remain suspect. In isolated areas in north facing terrain, these slabs have some potential to step down to deeper layers of buried surface hoar with depths to three feet.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A weak and fast moving system will move in from the north and bring a chance for localized light snow to fall tonight into Friday morning. During the day skies will be mostly to partly cloudy and temperatures are to rise into the mid twenties at all elevations.The general avalanche hazard will continue to be Moderate above 7500 feet where dense slabs could be triggered in steep terrain with one to two foot depths where they lie upon weak faceted snow. A slight chance remains to trigger deeper slabs, particularly in north facing terrain at the togwotee area. Avalanches below 7500 feet are not likely except for in isolated pockets in very steep terrain.
