Avalanche Summary

Clouds on Wednesday night may prevent the snow surface from freezing. This means that the window for supportive snow and safe avalanche conditions could be smaller on Thursday morning.

If you're headed out to recreate in the snow on Thursday, get an early start and end your day early. Monitor how far you are sinking into the snowpack. If there is not a supportable crust and you are sinking past your ankles, it is time to retreat to the trailhead.

The most dangerous areas are steep, rocky, confined terrain features. If you are sinking into the snowpack in these places, move to more supportive snow or call it a day.
