Lo esencial
Over a foot of new snow over the last two days accompanied by strong winds has created slabs that lie upon weak faceted snow and hard crusts. At the upper elevations these slabs could be up to three feet in depth on leeward slopes and will be very sensitive to skiers and riders. At the mid elevations pockets of slab to two feet in depth could be human triggered. Avalanches are unlikely at low elevations where the snowpack is very thin. Yesterday a skier triggered a slide in the Avalanche Bowl area of Teton Pass and other skiers reported widespread collapse and cracking.
