Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately bonded windslab will continue to develop on steep, mainly North-West to North-Easterly aspects above 850 metres. There may also be some cross-loading on steep sheltered West and East facing gully flanks and gully exits. Soft cornices forming above many of these locations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be around 400 metres. Snow showers continuing overnight and through the day. Winds will be Moderate to fresh from a South-Westerly direction. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight, light snow showers fell to all levels, intensifying during the course the morning, then later in the afternoon becoming more sporadic. It was also slightly milder than of late with summit temperatures around minus three degrees celsius. Moderate strength winds were generally South-Westerly.

ObservedSnowStability: Snow lying on all aspects at all elevations. Shallow accumulations of moderately bonded windslab developing on steep sheltered North-West to North-Easterly aspects. The tops of gullies and coire rims are particularly affected mostly above 850 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
