Lo esencial

The overall danger rating on the Skyline is rated MODERATE.

New snow may slowly add up enough by later this afternoon to increase the avalanche danger slightly.

The danger may reach CONSIDERABLE by Wednesday.

The new snow today shouldn't increase the avalanche danger all that much. Really, the only places that the danger will increase would be along exposed ridgelines where the wind might form some fresh drifts. Watch for cracking within the new snow which indicates unstable conditions.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: We've picked up a few inches of new high density snow overnight. Temperatures have been warm with readings around 30˚F. There was a slight bump in wind speed overnight but it is generally light now from the southwest. Mountain Weather: We'll see periods of snow today, mainly afternoon, with a few more inches stacking up. Temperatures will remain warm today then cool a couple of degrees tonight and Wednesday. Wind will be from the southwest in the light to moderate speed category. Snowfall intensity should pick up tonight into Wednesday morning. Periods of snow may linger into early Thursday. I'm thinking we should see 5 to 9 inches more snow by Thursday morning.
