A warming trend over the next few days will bring above zero temperatures in valley bottoms during the day. A mix of sun and cloud with light precipitation on Friday.

The Dec 20 facet/surface hoar layer that was proving very sensitive appears to be bonding exceptionally well to the crust below. Warming trend should further settle snowpack. Still highly variable throughout the region from rotten facetted areas to good, well settled snowpack.

No new avalanches reported. Warm day time temps will likely increase avalanche risk on solar aspects.
