The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. Large dangerous slab avalanches up to seven feet deep have occured in the Southern Teton Range. In the Continental Divide area slab avalanches two to four feet in depth could be human triggered. These dangerous slabs are most likely to be triggered by snowmobiles on steep slopes underlain by weak surgary (faceted) snow.

Daytime highs will rise to near 10 degrees from overnight lows near 5 to 10 degrees below zero. Winds will be westerly at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Above 7,500 feet the general avalanche hazard is expected to be CONSIDERABLE. Surface slabs 1 to 3 feet in depth and older hard slabs up to 5 feet in depth could be triggered by backcountry users especially on very steep northerly and easterly aspects. Below 7,500 feet the general avalanche hazard is expected to be low and avalanches are unlikely.
