Lo esencial
At the mid and upper elevations pockets of new slab put in by northwest winds and older DANGEROUS slabs 2 to 4 feet in depth lie upon weak layers of faceted snow. Yesterday Twice Is Nice, a southeast aspect of Cody Peak in the Teton Range, ran full path sometime around noon. The release zone was at an elevation of 10,700 feet. The crown was five feet in depth and several hundred feet across. The probability of triggering similar events today is high. Severe trauma and/or deep burial is a distinct possibility for humans who trigger these DANGEROUS slabs. At the lower elevations pockets of slab up to 3 feet in depth could be triggered on steep wind loaded avalanche prone terrain.
