Avalanche Summary

You might be able to trigger a small avalanche in wind-drifted snow below ridgelines and along gullies in the alpine. Evaluate and avoid areas where drifts are deeper or stiffer. If you encounter stiff, rippled snow that cracks underneath you, then stick to lower-angled slopes. Even a small slide can be dangerous if it carries you over low-tide hazards, like rocks or stumps.
