Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw, consolidate and remain generally well bonded and stable in most locations. Some isolated instabilities will persist on very steep and convex terrain. The snowpack will be most widespread above 900 metres around coire back walls and the plateau. Some remaining cornices will be unstable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Some light rain is expected at all levels during the night, this will clear to leave a dry day. Very strong South-South-East winds will veer to become strong South-Westerly during the day. The freezing level will remain above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: Dry and cloudy with light to moderate Southerly winds. The freezing level rose to summit levels by midday. ObservedSnowStability: There is a thin cover of soft, consolidating new snow on all aspects above 900 metres. The old snowpack is thawing and is most widespread around coire back walls and the plateau above 900 metres. Some isolated instabilities persist on very steep terrain but in general stability is good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
