The avalanche danger is Low today above 8,500 feet. Multiple days of warm temps and a lack of precipitation have allowed the snowpack to gain strength. Where there is enough snow to travel, the snowpack remains mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. There is no avalanche danger below 8,500 feet due to a lack of snow. The main hazard for backcountry travelers remains the obstacles hidden beneath the shallow snow.
