Wind slabs above approximately 1200 m.

On steep west, southwest and south facing slopes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls dry slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones.

Snowpack Structure

The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow. The fresh wind slabs have formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines on west, southwest and south facing slopes. As a consequence of low temperatures the snowpack can settle hardly at all. On Sunday the wind will be strong. The southwesterly wind will transport the new snow significantly.
