Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be firm well bonded and stable throughout. The most widespread snow fields will be around coire back walls and the plateau above 1000 metres, ribbons of soft snow below. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry cloudy conditions with strong South-South-East winds steadily increasing to become gale to storm force during the day. Summit temperatures dipping to around minus 1C overnight, rising to above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Very light snowfall cleared by late morning to leave a dry day with spells of sunshine. Winds were strong South-South-Easterly. The freezing level rose to 1100 metres by midday. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of new snow above 1100 metres. The old snowpack remains well bonded and stable throughout, and is firm on Northerly aspects, softening on sun exposed slopes. The most widespread snow fields are on coire back walls and the plateau above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
