Avalanche Activity

Down to 1500 m snow will fall over a wide area. As a consequence of the precipitation, the likelihood of small and medium sized avalanches being released will increase gradually.

As the day progresses the likelihood of avalanches being released will increase gradually in all aspects. On steep slopes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls small and medium-sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation. Avalanches can be triggered in the old snowpack and reach medium size.

Snowpack Structure

Some rain will fall over a wide area. These weather conditions will cause a gradual weakening of the snowpack. The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack in many places and generally at elevated altitudes.

Tendency

As a consequence of the northerly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations will form.
