Newberry

Avalanches large enough to bury or injure a rider will be unlikely at Newberry Crater on Saturday.  Rideable terrain is becoming very limited due to lack of snow.

Sadly snowmobiling is not even remotely possible from 10-mile snow park.  Skiing and snowboarding are still possible, but riding is limited to higher, north facing terrain.  Even on these north slopes, I found myself taking my skis off for a few hundred feet once I reached thicker forest below 6,700 ft.  Warm daytime temperatures have been softening the snow enough for good riding, and we haven't seen much for recent Wet avalanche activity (likely because we've been sticking to north slopes).
