Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are generally safe, but you might find an isolated snowdrift on steep north to east through southeast-facing, alpine slopes and trigger a small avalanche. Even a small amount of moving snow can knock you off your feet and carry you into hazardous terrain further down the mountain. The insides of couloirs and below corniced ridges are likely places to find drifted snow.

Sunday is sunny and warm, you can expect some of the recent snow to sluff off very steep, rocky slopes. Rollerballs, pinwheels, and wet, gloppy snow are precursors of this cycle. Avoid traveling on or directly below these slopes.

Researchers Ian McCammon and Sara Boilen are developing new tools for managing human factors for backcountry skiers and boarders. This survey asks about personal experiences with human factors and will take 7 - 8 minutes to fill out. Link is HERE. Thank you for your help!
