Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are safe from avalanches. Exceptions include slopes steeper than 35 degrees with more than about 8 inches of recently drifted snow. On these slopes, you might be able to trigger a small avalanche running on the underlying crusts. Even a small avalanche can be dangerous in very steep and rocky terrain.

You can minimize this threat by starting and ending your day earlier. If you observe slushy, unsupportable surface conditions and/or pinwheels and rollerballs coming out of our steep rocky terrain, move to colder, shadier slopes or exit avalanche terrain.
