The General Avalanche Hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Warm, heavy new snow is falling onto six inches of light powder. At ridgetops strong winds are creating slabs to eighteen inches in depth that could be user triggered on lee slopes. The new snow will make it easier to trigger underlying slabs to three feet in depth that rest on a weak layer of old surface hoar that still lurk in unpredictable areas.
