Wind slabs formed by southwest to northwest winds with depths to two feet lie upon firm old snow surfaces. These slabs could be triggered by skiers or riders who venture onto steep slopes. Sunshine and warming temperatures will increase the sensitivity of these slabs to human triggers.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Cloudy skies with increasing snow showers are expected. Accumulations of several inches are possible at the highest elevations. Cold conditions will prevail with temperatures in the teens and 20s. Winds will be light and variable. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at the mid and upper elevations. Winds slabs up to two feet in depth persist on steep slopes and could be triggered by people who venture onto them.
