The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW and avalanches are unlikely. A thin layer of new snow lies upon hard, wind blown snow and strong crusts. Well developed surface hoar also sits under the new snow in shaded and partially shaded aspects. Most lower elevation slopes are bare.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) High pressure will move across the region Friday night followed by a weak upper level system that will bring light snow to the mountains Saturday afternoon into Sunday. Lows overnight Friday will be near ten degrees f. and highs Saturday near freezing. Ridge top winds Saturday will be southwesterly at 15 to 20 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Mostly stable snow exists and significant avalanches are not likely.
