Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a dangerous avalanche on northwest through north to east-facing slopes near and above treeline, especially in wind-loaded terrain. The easiest way to avoid being caught in a dangerous slab avalanche is by avoiding travel on or under large, steep slopes that face these directions. Safer travel options exist on south-facing slopes, but if you start sinking deeply into wet snow, move away from steeper terrain.
