Lo esencial

The majority of the terrain on the Manti Skyline has a LOW avalanche danger rating today.

A MODERATE danger rating exists in upper elevation north through east through south terrain where recent deposits of wind drifted snow are present.

Avoid cornices and steep slopes below cornices. These are the most likely places to trigger a slide today.

The wind was strong enough during the recent storm to form fresh cornices, drifts and slabs. These may remain sensitive today. The most likely places to find these are going to be right along the higher ridges and peaks on north through east through south facing terrain. As time goes on, these will stabilize but I wouldn't monkey around with them today.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: A few more inches trickled in on Monday bringing storm totals since Sunday up to about 9 inches. The wind has been from the north and has really slowed down now. Temperatures are in the low teens. Riding conditions are excellent.

Mountain Weather: There is cloud cover this morning but we should see it break a bit. We'll have partly cloudy skies with light northwest wind and high temperatures in the low to mid 20s. Wednesday brings some clouds and a spike in wind speeds. There may be light snowfall Wednesday night. No significant storms are in sight until the middle of next week.
