Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining patchy snow will continue to slowly thaw at all levels but will remain well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts will be encountered above 900 metres in North to East corries and around the higher Cairngorm tops. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day is expected with the freezing level above the summits. Winds strengthening becoming fresh South-South-Easterlies. Observed Weather Influences: A sunny dry day. Initially quite cool but the freezing levels rose rapidly above the summits. Moderate winds from the South-East. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining patchy snow is well bonded throughout. Surface layers were initially firm but softened where exposed to the sun. Greatest amounts are found above 900 metres on North to East aspects and around the higher Cairngorm summits. The avalanche hazard is Low.
