Klarvær og nattefrost fører til et generelt hardt og stabilt snødekke. I solvendte fjellsider vil sola varme opp snøen gjennom dagen slik at overflaten bli myk. I svært bratt solvendt terreng er det mulig å løse ut små våte løssnøskred. Enkelte slike skred kan også løsne av seg selv, særlig under skavler og klipper. I områder der sola ikke tar tak, kan hard skare gi fare for å skli og skade seg.

If the sun is shining, small wet loose snow avalanches may release in very steep, sun-facing terrain, especially below cornices and cliffs. Increasing cloud cover and high temperatures will likely cause the snow surface to soften in all aspects.

Remember that cornices are often larger than you think, so keep a good distance from the edge.
